Everything around me seems to have changed. Very little is as it was a month ago in my life.  I think we can all agree on that point. That can make us feel uneasy as we walk though uncharted territory.  The Bible says that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). He never changes! I have the Prince of Peace to look to when the wind is blowing around me and my ship is being tossed with the waves (Matthew 14:22-33).  And He will keep me in perfect peace. All I need to do is lean on Him and put my hope in Him (Isaiah 26:3).

The devil is after our peace. And fear and panic is how he tries to do his job.

This is Easter weekend. Friday night was not easy, it wasn’t comfortable, and it wasn’t pretty. But there was a promise of hope. A promise that would change the world forever.  The constant unwavering love the Father had for His children was the same Friday night and Sunday morning. Our job is to receive that love when the world looks scary and hopeless. I love John 3:16 and probably most of us can quote that. But don’t forget John 3:17. God did not send His Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it. He is here for me and for you. His love never changes and He is always as close as your breath.

As we go through this week, even if it seems like Friday night, remember…

Sunday is on the way!

How are you?

That’s an easy question but not an easy answer.

We are going through quite a complicated time. It’s normal to be scared and sad and worried that this won’t end or that life will never return to what we’ve known. It feels like we are stuck. It feels like we are at the mercy of this virus and these walls that surround us. But I’m here to encourage you today.

This will end. What we have now is a time of waiting. A time of prayer. A time of resting. A time of renewing. A time to decide what we want our new normal to look like.

We have a choice to make. What is our attitude going to be during this time? Do we HAVE to stay home or do we GET to stay home?

“I have set before you life and death. Choose life!” Deuteronomy 30:19

God speaks to me through little things around the house. And I have a lot of Legos! It’s like we spent all this time building a Lego city and our little sister has come by and destroyed it all! How dare she?!?! We’ve worked so hard and spent so much time and effort making it just perfect!

What now? After some pouting and yelling what do we do?

Now we rebuild. We can reconstruct our new normal. What worked in our city? What needed to be moved? What priorities needed to be adjusted?

We can build a solid foundation. And that house won’t be shaken.

Luke 6:48

Pray and ask God what our city is supposed to look like. He has a plan. Plans for good to give us a future and a hope!

Jeremiah 29:11

He loves and cares for us and we have a unique opportunity right now. Let us not allow this time to pass by allowing ourselves to stay in an overthinking, worrying, freaking out, and pouting state of mind. We can take our thoughts back! We can talk to the God who created all the resources we have and get His plan. Let’s pray for the blueprints He has made for our life and start building them effortlessly in His rest! We will find it will be stronger and better than ever!
